Autobiography

Currently I am employed by L-3 Communications Wescam Sonoma Operations as the Lead Test Technican of the Test Engineering Department. L-3 Communications Wescam Sonoma Operations design, develop, manufacture and support ultra stabilized, high performance electro-optical and infrared imaging turret systems for ground, airborne, manned, unmanned aerial vehicles, military, and commercial applications. I am responsible for scheduling of all subassemblies, circuit boards and turret systems coming to the Test Engineering Department before final shipment. I am also responsible for managing and overseeing the productivity of five test technicians.

My short term career goal is within the next year to be appointed as the Test Engineering Supervisor. My short term educational goal is to complete English 100 in order to receive an Associates degree in Electronic Technology. My longer term educational goal is to pursue a Bachelors degree in Business Management.

I have lived in Sonoma County for 26 years which has been most of my life. I am hoping to receive from this class, better write skills and grammar. This would benefit myself and my employer in my writing reports, emails, etc. My goal is to get my work in early. This will be a challenge with my hectic work schedule and responsibilities. I usually pace myself by trying to engage in my school work at least a little everyday. I look forward to the interaction of online learning, by this I hope learn about the views of others and hopefully a little more about myself.

  1. Hi Mandye,
Your job sounds incredible! It seems like you have an extraordinary amount of responsibility and you take it seriously! My hat is off to you for wanting to better yourself for your job. I understand the challenge with working and fitting in school, as I work full time and attend school full time, so I wish you well with your studies, and I look forward to engaging with you in this class.

  2. Hi Mandy,

I agree with Carrie. You have a high-demand, high-responsibility job and you seem to enjoy it!

I've worked full-time while being a full-time student. I think it takes a lot of responsibility and time management. It also takes a willingness to defer gratification. It seems like the skills you use in your job come in handy when scheduling your school work.

Are you planning to stay in your current job after receiving your Associate's degree?

Looking forward to working with you!

    Take care,
    Lauren

  3. I commend you for your work ethics. From your introduction it seems that you are already well versed in your writing skills and grammar. It sounds as you have a well thought out short term and longs terms goal for yourself. I would also commend you from raising your child as a single mother and still accomplishing as much as you have.( this was form the message that you left me)
In order to stay focused in an online class being able to do a little work everyday will keep you well head of the game. Good luck and I hope to engage in more blogging with you through out the semester.
